Second Annual Dash for Dollars Comedy Game Show Event March 9th, 2009
By William Muller

Playing to win a cash prize of up to $500, high spirited Middlesex students once again made this popular event rock and roll! Student Senate put up the money and Ralph Tetta, stand-up comedian and game show host, served as master of ceremonies. Upwards of twenty students competed in four rounds of progressively more difficult challenges to qualify for the final “dash” inside the “Cash Cube.” Challenges included hula hoop, ring toss, mini-golf and more.

The Cube is a phone booth-sized box with timer vented top and bottom to create a flow of cash. The winner of the qualifying rounds was Kahdijah Hill, who won a total of $116 after spending thirty seconds trying to grab the flying money and stuff it into an apron pouch provided by cubemaster Ralph Tetta. Hill found the experience electrifying, and said her future goals include becoming famous: “Remember my name,” Hill said, “one day you’ll see me on TV!” Runners-up Sabrina and Kevin (last names not announced) each scored $25, and the host threw several bunches of dollar bills into the crowd over the course of the show.

Look out for the next great event sponsored by Student Senate and you too could be in the money!
